There was a big dramatic change involving music in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. Music Scenes and photos were starting to come along with the songs. 2 major changes were the introduction of the MTV and the compact disc. Music was beginning to change and was gaining more genres such as new wave, heavy metal, rap, techno pop, alternative pop, pub rock which was extremely popular and the “new” country sounds. It also began to be a huge marketing tool for film makers, TV producers and the music industry. The major pop artists who mainly originated from America in the 1980’were Madonna, Oprah Winfrey, Beatles, Prince and Michael Jackson who was starting to get pretty famous for pop and RnB songs. The 1980s marked the age of a revival period of little activity after a long time. The 1980s tried more to become better than the 1970s rather than try to create any new trends. Before the 80s the 70s had very little success by making disaster movies, buddy movies, and cop movies by trying to portray the previous decade. Designed and packaged for great audiences, few 80s films became what could be called ‘Classics’. The 1980s opened with many predicaments of a grim future for the film industry. Thought the thing that would make matters worse was cable TVs and video cassettes it seemed but as they went on it wasn’t that bad. In Hollywood the 80s seemed to be bringing in great fortune. Some say it was pretty boring while others say it showed social consciousness was well and alive in movies. Some of the top best names were the Breakfast Club, Indiana Jones, Beverly Hills Cop, Rambo, Pretty in Pink, Die Hard, etc. Australia is often considered to be a ‘sports mad’ country. We show it by the amount of sport we watch, play and attend. Our love is reflected by the amount of people who play, watch or attend sports events.
