Missouri Southern State University should consider lowering the price of the apartment-style living. As students, we are paying more money and getting less for it. The apartment-style dorms have nothing more than a cramped living room, bathroom, and incomplete kitchen. Also, the dorms have two bedrooms that come with uncontrollable insects, such as roaches. If I am living and paying for an apartment I expect to see it resemble one. By this I mean a spacious living room with higher ceilings. Also, a lovely bathroom, larger bedrooms, and a complete open kitchen. Many people say you get what you pay for, but I feel like I haven’t gotten my money’s worth. MSSU’s apartment-style dorms should resemble an actual apartment. The living space should be designed with a larger complete kitchen, massive living room for entertaining and higher ceilings for those who are taller than most. A full-size kitchen should be a requirement for the apartment-style dorms at Missouri Southern. My apartment is equipped with a sink as big as an 11 inch notebook with limited counter space. Also included are a microwave, and a medium sized refrigerator. To get my money’s worth I would expect a full-size stove, full-size refrigerator and a stainless-steal microwave. Also, a full-size sink with extra counter space is necessary as well. All of these are examples of what you would see in an actual apartment. It would be a great success to arrange for changes to be made for the apartment-style dorms not only for the students but for the University itself. For example MSSU will continue to increase the population of students, therefore increasing the amount of money being made for the University. Living with three other people can be hard especially when you don’t have a large living space as you would in an actual apartment.
