The views on disability through time have seemed to evolve at apparent periods in history. Although it is easier said than done to acknowledge that we as humans should have that appreciation and respect towards any difference, that is not the case. Though we do live in a world where things are going rapidly in many aspects there should definitely be an awareness and a readiness to confront differences at any given moment. Here there is an informative glimpse at the historical background, changes in society, how people are taking disability as a whole and the future for global humanity. Disability has always been a form of life that people have frowned upon for centuries because they aren’t ready to confront difference. In the 15th century, people with disabilities were viewed by society and the church as unnatural individuals who were against God(Hanna Morelli). Nowadays, people in the 20th century don’t think that way and neither does any religious organization due to the fact that many laws had passed then throughout time to create equality for people with disability. Sunaura Taylor is a great example of someone who yet with disabilities strived to succeed all her dreams of being a painter and more by becoming an activist for people with disabilities(Eugene Wolters). The Society for disability studies has helped by gaining equality for those with disabilities(Eugene Wolters). In return, manys laws have passed due to the vast interest in overall equality and it is noticeable that there has been to some extent a resource for people with disabilities. There became more awareness of the fact that disability was something to be appreciated, but, it slowly became more of a normality because it became more apparent and seen by everyone. In every century society had a particular view on disability which gradually got better.
