ke's call to adventure is the hologram projected by R2D2 of Princess Leia's cry for help leading him to search for Ben Kenobi. Harry Potter's call to adventure are the acceptance letters from Hogwarts addressed to him. In almost every case, there is a Refusal of the Call. The hero refuses the call to adventure because they are accustomed to their ordinary life and too scared to leave or they simply feel they aren't capable of completing the adventure. Luke refuses the call because working on a farm is all he knows and he feels he must go back, as well as in Harry Potter when Harry refuses because he believes Hagrid made a mistake and he cannot be a wizard. The heroes refusal usually leads to Supernatural Aid. At this point in the journey, the hero will encounter a mentor or some sort of guidance giving him something he needs leading him off to begin the adventure.
